The following CLASSIC WOOD CRAFT FINISHES are formulated solely from highly refined Plant (wood, nut, seed and citrus) oils and bees waxes. Each oil is specifically designed and instructed, with all, very much addressing the Health and Environment issues relevant to today’s end-user and our planet.

NONE OF OUR OILS SOLIDIFY IN THE CAN AFTER OPENING ;generally this occurs due to the presence of petro/synthetic polymers, chemicals and driers: and some such products are deemed CHILD/FOOD SAFE?! – WHEN?

DECORATIVE WOODTURNING ONLY.

Organoil’s Hi-Speed Finishing Oilis specifically formulated & acutely instructed for on-lathe, under-turning-speed finishing. It is a heavy oil which can well deal with the load (fill) requirements of softwoods - you may choose to cut it (with vegetable turpentine) for denser hardwoods. One of its unique ingredients is the rare, Mustard Seed Oil (a well kept Aussie secret until now!) which gives the formulation good ‘slip’ for the wet-sanding procedure and a silken touch to the finished result. For items intended for food serving, chopping/work tops etc. this oil would be too“soft” – refer to below product “Hard BURNISHING OIL”.

BENCHTOPS, TABLETOPS, FOOD SERVING ITEMS (bowls, boards etc.)

Particularly suited to powered-disc (and on-lathe) finishing with wet and dry sandpaper.
Based on genuine TUNG NUT oil, this product provides excellent sealing, efficient drying/curing and ‘handling’ durability to the finished item.Whilst not the “brightest” finish, will deliver performance required. Following the advocated “Burnishing Technique” (rear page) helps ensure greater hardening of this oil at and below the surface, also delivering a quality patina and better surface endurance.

DECORATIVE WOODWORK, CHILDREN’S TOYS, INTERNAL FURNITURE AND JOINERY
(This is NOT a hard enough oil to finish Benchtops/Flooring)

A penetrative, nourishing, quality finishing oil which reflects the original, heavy-oil formulations that traditional Danish Oils were renowned for. As a clear finish will richly enhance the existing woodcolour/s. For best results, requires quality dry-sand surface preparation; with patinas raised by frictioning wet-oiled surface with synthetic, fine abrasive wool/pads and lambswool buffing. Uponcuring/drying (min. 14 days) makes for ideally prepared surface for further (optional) Waxing/Polishing.

WOODWORKING; POLISHING FURNITURE and JOINERY (that has previously been oiled
or waxed)

A refined Beeswax and Citrus Oil polish with pleasant aromatics and emulsified into a ready-to-use paste. For the palest, brightest cabinetry finish offered in our range; a double wax application and polish (min. 24 hours apart) to raw, fine-sanded woodwork would be recommended.
